Introduction: The Region

The Anatolian Peninsula runs form the Gulf of Alexandretta on the Mediterranean to the Black Sea. The region that is now modern day Turkey has a diverse historical and cultural background. This virtual museum will present the region as a source area for items that trace and explore the empires that ruled Anatolia.
